Top-Level Recommendations on a Research Paper Header
Research paper headings can get a little confusing because there are usually two different ways that you can do them unless you are instructed differently by your instructor. The standard styles that are usually used are APA and MLA. Both of these styles are used in high school and college classes and it is up to the discretion of the school which one they will use. APA and MLA Headings
- APA headings at the top of your paper are the shortened title of the paper that you have written. This header is in all capital letters and is followed by the page number. These headings are also flush on the left with each page of your paper.
- MLA headings are simpler because you don’t have to come up with a shortened title for your paper. Headers on MLA papers are flush right and include your last name and also the page number.
